Heat Exchangers serve a multitude of purposes in the HVAC industry. Simply put, they transfer heat from an undesired location via one medium to a more acceptable location thru a second medium. A car’s radiator is an example of a heat exchanger. In HVAC, we sometimes are required to separate one medium from a second medium – we may be cooling or heating a product on one side of the heat exchanger via hot or cold water on the other side of the heat exchanger. We don’t want the product and the water to mix, just transfer energy from one to the other.
